Chef Ernesto
"The Coolest Chef on the Planet"
Chef Ernesto known as “the coolest Chef on the planet” was, as is common with many urban area youths, a troubled young man, no stranger to juvenile hall. At 17, things turned around for Ernesto when he joined the Army and began working as a cook during the Vietnam War.
The skill he learned ignited a greater flame and love of the culinary world. After earning his GED, and leaving the Army, Chef enrolled in and completed a two-year Culinary Program at San Francisco City College. Working in restaurants, hotels and on cruise ships, Chef Ernesto honed his skill while paying his dues, gaining the ability needed to analyze and identify systemic problems earning him the position of Overseer of Daily Kitchen Operations.
With a solid bank of experience under his belt, Chef Ernesto began a journey into the role of a Culinary Instructor. First as a baking and pastry instructor at The Institute of Technology, which has been recognized by Sacramento Magazine (in two consecutive years) as its choice of number one culinary institution, to becoming an instructor with the Job Corp., training and encouraging disadvantaged youth, designing an innovative syllabus which taught food preparation with an emphasis on math! Chef Ernesto says, “I taught my students the fine art of the business of professional baking.”
Now Chef Ernesto is teaching and sharing his culinary expertise by training chefs around the world on his “Food Talk with Chef Ernesto Show” seen on the “This Is Your Season” network on Livestream.com
